Facilities & Directions

Forbis and Dick Stokesdale Chapel has taken on a new look. The interior of the funeral home has been brightened and enhanced over the past year to a comforting and fashionable design. Along with the interior being remodeled the name of the existing chapel has been changed to Forbis and Dick Stokesdale Chapel.Brooke Funeral Home was purchased by Forbis and Dick in 1997. Until its purchase the funeral home had been owned and operated by several different families including the Bartletts, Dunlaps, Brookes, and the Vaughns. The earliest use of the building was as a hotel as early as 1909.Early in its history the funeral home provided an ambulance service for the area and was one of the only buildings in the downtown area of Stokesdale with a telephone, therefore it was a clearing house for all types of important messages that required community wide notification.Times have certainly changed and Forbis and Dick Stokesdale Chapel has changed with them. Forbis and Dick Stokesdale Chapel is one of seven Forbis and Dick locations in the Piedmont that offer complete and professional funeral arrangements. Under the management of Todd Harmon, Forbis and Dick Stokesdale Chapel serves the communities of Stokesdale, Oak Ridge, Summerfield, and eastern Forsyth county with professional and courteous service.
