Facilities & Directions

In the early 1970′s Mr. Forbis and Mr. Dick saw the need to establish a second funeral home location in the western part of the city. In 1974, Forbis and Dick – Guilford was constructed on W. Friendly Avenue, one block west of Guilford College and began serving families in the community. In 1981, Mr. Forbis had the foresight to recognize that more families would be choosing cremation. Soon thereafter, we installed our first crematory. We were the first funeral home in Guilford County to on site cremation facilities. As more families were calling on us to serve them, it became apparent that we needed to enlarge our building. In 1992, as part of a comprehensive renovation project, 6,000 square feet was added to the building, a new crematory building was constructed, and a second cremation unit was added. We continue to upgrade and update our buildings and equipment as an integral part of meeting the needs of our families.
