William Huston Tanksley IV, 50, well known in the Triad as “DJ Mr. Bill” away on Sunday, November7, 2021. Bill was born in Greensboro, NC on November 6, 1971. He graduated with Bachelor of Political Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. “Mr. Bill” was a DJ for 35+ years. Bill was a fun loving, amazing son, and a wonderful, generous friend. “DJ Mr. Bill” started mixing tapes in the 8th grade. He would play at dances, school and university events, house parties, and weddings. Bill was at heart a Turntablist who delivered great value through the warm analogue sounds that only vinyl can create. He mastered the art of manipulating sounds to create new music, special effects, mixes and other creative beats when using two or more turntables. Bill was known for being happy and eager to share his love for music in many talented ways that made sure that he rocked the party and others were having a great time. Bill is survived by his mother, Janice Tanksley and a host of friends. Bill’s musical legacy will always live on. He will forever be missed. A future Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
