William "Bill" Joe Hudspeth

MOCKSVILLE—Mr. William “Bill” Joe Hudspeth, 88, of Edison Street, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at Wake Forest Baptist Health Davie Medical Center in Advance. He was born on January 18, 1934, in Yadkin County, to the late John Lee and Pearl Jane Tucker Hudspeth. Mr. Hudspeth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a car enthusiast, frequenting car shows and obsessing over automobiles and loved collecting antiques, especially antique glassware. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mabel Hudspeth Garris, Leeroy Hudspeth, Stella Hudspeth, Annie Hudspeth Cook, Hazel Hudspeth, Fannie Hudspeth Polizzotto, Paul Hudspeth, Etta Wall, Hugh Hudspeth, and Charles Hudspeth; and a grandchild, Karmen Buie. Survivors include his children, Phyllis Renee Hudspeth, Teresa Ann Hudspeth, and Mike Allen Hudspeth; two sisters, Shirley Brown and Jane Perkins; grandchildren, Savannah Rose Hudspeth-Miller, Patricia Moore, Marsha Scotten, Cassandra Scotten, Trey Buie; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, February 7, at Eaton Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Stan Riddle officiating. Interment will follow in Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamptonville with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday night at Eaton Funeral Home.
