Sharon Kay Johnson Chandler, 61, passed away on Friday morning, October 22, 2021 at the Hospice Home of High Point. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 30 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Shytle officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. A native of Wilkes County, Sharon was born on January 30, 1960 the daughter of Ray Clinton Johnson and Gracie Jarvis Johnson. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and graduated from Northwest Guilford High School, Class of ’78 and attended Appalachian State University. Sharon’s world revolved around taking care of and being with her family. Whether it was just being together or hosting a crowd and cooking a meal to “feed an army”, was where Sharon found delight. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father Ray Clinton Johnson and her ‘Daddy’ Robert L. ‘Bob’ Casey. Surviving are her mother Gracie Casey; daughter Kim Etheridge and her husband, Joe; brothers Commie Johnson (Terri) and Bobby Casey (Valda); sisters Debora Scott (Randy) and Teresa Clinton (Dan); 3 grandchildren Austin Etheridge, Greyson Etheridge, and Adalyn Etheridge, as well as a loving extended family. Memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, Illinois 60611. Forbis & Dick – Stokesdale is serving the family.
