Ruby Marie Edwards Kernodle Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ruby Marie Edwards Kernodle age 92, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday July 22,2022. She was born November 23, 1929, in Greensboro, N.C. to Maxton Boyd Edwards and Johnsie Vernell Edwards. In addition to her parents, Ms. Kernodle was preceded in death by her daughter, Diannia Marie Kernodle, her sister, Maxine Edwards Enoch, and brother Ervin Edwards. Survived by her daughter, Linda Beeson and husband Thomas Beeson, sister Treva Henley, granddaughter Diana Strader and husband Robbie Strader, granddaughter Angela Roberts, six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and two nephews. Ruby was the last remaining charter member of Victory Baptist Church which originally was founded by her parents in 1963 where they converted a small machine shop on their property for a place for the community to gather to worship God and find fellowship. In 1968 it was moved to its current location on Meadowview Drive. Ruby professed her life to Christ at an early age. She loved participating in the church choir and cherished praising the Lord! She loved reading her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing and always had a smile upon her face. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and friend, always thinking of others first “To know her was to love her”. Visitation will be held Monday July 25 from 5:30-7:00 at Forbis and Dick Funeral Services, 1118 North Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday July 26 followed by a memorial service at Victory Baptist Church at 2:00 pm, 810 Meadowood Street, Greensboro, NC 27409.
