Rita Mangum Beasley, 86, of Greensboro, passed away on February 20, 2022 at Wesley Long Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, February 25th at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Daniel Dickard officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Thursday evening, February 24th from 5:30 until 7:30 at Forbis & Dick – Guilford Chapel. Rita was born on July 26, 1935 in Granville County, NC to the late Clifton Mangum and the late Alma Adcock Mangum Clayton. She was a long-time resident of Greensboro. Rita graduated from Berea High School. She was an active member of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her sister Diane C. Baird and an infant brother and sister. Surviving are her children Susan B. Peters (Brian) and David Beasley; granddaughter Kristen Peters; brother-in-law Roger Baird; sister-in-law Nellie Birkenholz; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendly Avenue Baptist Church - Ministry Center Building Fund, 4800 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27410; or Baptist Children’s Homes of NC, 204 Idol St., Thomasville, NC 27360.
