May 30, 1970 - September 25, 2021
Richard Mark Spencer, 51, died Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Wesley Long Hospital. Mark was born May 30, 1970 in High Point, North Carolina to Richard Joseph and Kathy Dunning Spencer. He is proceeded in death by his Grandparents Howard and Sue Dunning, John and Doris Spencer and his sister Angela Spencer Miranda. Mark is survived by his parents, his sons Richard Brandon Spencer and Ryan Jacob Spencer, his niece Heather Stanley (Tripp), great nephew Aiden Stanley and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Mark was a loving father, son, uncle, and friend. He was funny and loved to sing and fish. He would always try to brighten someone else’s day or lend a helping hand whenever he could. His pride and joy was his two sons and he would go to the ends of the earth to take care of them. During his battle with aggressive cancer, he would try to minimize his own pain and suffering so people wouldn’t worry about him. Even though his family and friends will miss him he is in heaven, pain free, singing and rejoicing with his Lord and Savior on heavens golden shores. A 2:00-4:00 pm visitation will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel. Mark was a member of Parkway Baptist church (Kings Cross Church) and was a member of the Elks Club. Mark highly believed in paying it forward or helping someone in need so in lieu of flowers the family has requested that remembrances be made in an act of kindness. Please pay it forward whether it be paying for someone’s order in a fast-food line, giving to a person in need at church or work. The family would also suggest donating in memory of Mark to a charity of your choice.
