Richard Lee Smith, Jr., 48, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Moses Cone Hospital. The family will receive friends Friday evening, December 3, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick – Stokesdale Chapel. Richard Lee was born in Guilford County on May 14, 1973, the son of Frieda Campbell Presnell and Richard Lee Smith, Sr. He worked as a truck driver until his health no longer allowed. While life was difficult at times, Richard Lee lived to its fullest. He enjoyed fishing, but especially cherished time spent with family. Surviving are his mother and primary caregiver, Frieda Presnell of the home; children, Stephen Swain, Austin Messel, Zackery Smith, and Dakota Smith; 2 grandchildren, Callie Smith and Kizer Smith and real good friend, James Headley.
