Pleas Monroe Sawyer

Pleas Monroe Sawyer, of Greensboro, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Moses Cone Hospital. The family will receive friends in visitation from 5:00pm – 7:00, Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Forbis and Dick North Elm Chapel. There will be a Mass honoring Pleas’ life @ 3:00 pm, Friday, June 10, 2022, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Greensboro. Pleas was born on September 3, 1940, in Durham, North Carolina to the late Thomas Benjamin Sawyer and Dorothy Siler Sawyer. He was a long-time Parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and was very active in the Right to Life Community. He attended St. Mary’s Seminary and was a long time Kmart employee. He was also an avid, amateur historian. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Wendall Sawyer, and Joe Sawyer. He is survived by his sisters, Sharon Nelson (Leonard), and Floy Blanton and brothers, Tom Sawyer, Jr. (Jennifer), and Gregory Sawyer.
