Myrtle Jean Harris Sprinkle

SPENCER—Mrs. Myrtle Jean Harris Sprinkle, 88, of Bethamy Retirement Center, died Wednesday, June 1, 2022. She was born on February 14, 1934, in Wilkes County, to the late Vander Lewis and Bradie Lucille Myers Harris. Mrs. Sprinkle worked at A&P for many years as a cashier. She was a devout Christian who faithfully read her Bible and enjoyed watching T.V. preachers, especially Charles Stanley. Jean loved her plants and flowers and enjoyed antiques and looking at old furniture. She took care of her parents in the latter years and will be remembered as a loving mother and housewife. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Sprinkle; a son, Dwayne Bowles; two brothers, John Harris and James Harris; and two sisters, Aileen Tulbert and Sue Harris. Survivors include her children, Eddie Bowles of Winston-Salem and Mike Smith (Cathy) of Mocksville; her step-children, Stephanie Landreth of Clemmons, Brian Sprinkle (Julie) of Winston-Salem, and Darren Sprinkle (Sheri) of Thomasville; two brothers, Dewey Harris (Cathy) of Winston-Salem and Robert Harris (Clara) of Mooresville; a sister, Doris Eudy of Mooresville; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and special friends, Colleen Brinkley, Mary Hill, and Dave and Katie Clinard. A memorial service will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Eaton Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Roshell Martin officiating. A private inurnment will follow at a later date at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery in Harmony.
