Mary "Fran" Frances Moffitt Enochs

July 18, 1930 - October 22, 2021

Mary “Fran” Frances Moffitt Enochs, age 91, of Greensboro, passed away October 22, 2021. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday October 25, 2021 at Forbis & Dick N. Elm Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Fran was born July 18, 1930 in Greensboro to the late Fleta May Moffitt and Robert G. Moffitt. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in McLeansville and loved her church. She always took her children to Sunday School, church, and Bible School. She loved to sew and quilt and made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. She was also a former member of Cedarcrest Golf Course Ladies Team and loved the beach. Fran was a loving wife, mother, and “Maw Maw”. She was devoted to her husband, relocating with him during his career from Greensboro, to Campbellsville KY, to Midlothian VA to Sellersburg IN. They made treasured friends along their journey. Upon Bob’s retirement, they moved back “home” to Greensboro to be near their children and grandchildren. Fran will always be remembered as a kind and caring person, always ready to help others. Our mother was the epitome of the adage “beautiful on the outside and beautiful on the inside”. Heaven has gained another angel and she and Bob are reunited at last. She is survived by her children, Elaine Layton and husband, Max, of Julian, NC, Lorie Wooten and husband, Victor, of Greensboro, Robert N. Enochs, Jr., and wife, Christine, of Chesapeake, VA, and Valrie Brock and husband, James, of Borden, IN., eight grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Herman Enochs Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Robert Enochs Sr. and 3 dear sisters.
