Mary Ann Thompson Stone Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Ann Stone , devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Monday, July 11th, 2022, at the age of 89. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 2:00pm at Guilford College United Methodist Church, 1205 Fleming Rd., Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm -1:50pm at the Church. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery, 3601 Whitehurst Rd., Greensboro. Mrs. Stone was born in Eden, N.C., to the late William Oscar and Nellie Myrtle Thompson. She worked for over 30 years with Sears Company. Her greatest joy was loving and caring for her daughter Cynthia for six decades. She was a proud advocate for the disabled community. Her service to the “Happy Hearts” Sunday school class at First Baptist Church for over 20 years was one of her greatest joys. She shared her love of gardening and cooking with her children, grandsons, and friends. She is survived by her children; David Randall Stone, and Annette Stone Lasley (Brian); grandchildren, Steven Randall Stone, Philip James Stone, John Maston Lasley, Benjamin James Lasley; great-grandson, Steven Randall Stone Jr., Colin Kingsley Stone and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stone was predeceased by her husband, Maston Payne Stone, daughter, Cynthia Ann Stone, and siblings James Thompson and Eleanor Burleson.
