Martha Alice Suits Coleman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Greensboro—Martha “Marty” Suits Coleman, 86, of Greensboro, died July 18th. A native of Trinity, NC, and nearly lifelong Guilford County resident, Marty leaves a lasting memory in the scores of family and friends who had the pleasure of knowing her. An avid reader, gardener, and churchgoer, Marty stayed busy in her garden and with church groups. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Walter “Sweetie” M. Coleman, her parents, George and Lela Suits, her brothers Gilbert, Tommy, and her “younger” brother Herman Suits. She is survived by her daughters Melissa Strickland of Ruffin, NC; Beth Coleman of Burlington, NC; grandchildren Jami Anderson and husband Ben of Davidson, NC; Charlie Shaver and wife Sara of Clemmons, NC; great-grandchildren Emery and Sloane Anderson, and Henry and Walter Shaver. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories her “sister”, Rita Davis, her brother-in-law John Norton; nephews Derrick Davis, Anthony Davis, Dr. John Norton (Beth), Tim Coleman, niece Nancy Coleman Melton, and additional extended family, and a host of close friends. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend to many. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at Forbis and Dick N. Elm St, beginning with visitation at 1pm, services at 2pm, followed by internment at Floral Garden Cemetery in High Point, NC. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma American Cancer Society or Friendly Avenue Baptist Church.
