Mark Wayne Gardner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mark Wayne Gardner, 54 of Greensboro NC passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and sons on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 6309 W. Friendly Avenue in Greensboro. The family will receive friends before the service at 1:00 pm. Mark was born on February 17th, 1968 in Martinsville VA. His family moved to Madison, NC and lived there for several years. They came to Greensboro when he was 10, and he made it his lifelong home. Mark graduated from Western Guilford High School in 1986 and went on to work at Guilford Mills and Polo Ralph Lauren, where he worked for almost 20 years. Mark was preceded in death by his father Wilmer Gardner, his mother Patricia Brown Gardner, his brothers Jimmy Gardner and Mitchell Gardner. He is survived by his loving wife Gail Huffine Gardner, his sons Cross Gardner and West Gardner, his sister-in-law Carolyn Huffine, and his faithful companion Oscar, the family dog. He is also survived by his brother Jeff Gardner, sister Debra Malloy, and many friends that were dear to him. Mark was a dedicated husband and father. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, grilling, Kentucky college basketball, Virginia Tech football, and he was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. His greatest joys were spending time with his family at the beach or simply relaxing on the back deck and having his family at home all together. Mark showed so much strength and determination during his illness, never giving up and fighting to be with the ones he loved. Gail, Cross, and West supported him every step of the way, giving him love and strength. The family of Mark would like to thank all of their loving friends, all of the wonderful nurses and doctors at Cone Health Cancer Center and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and hospice for all of their love and care.
