Linda Jordan Godwin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ms. Linda Jordan Godwin, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022, after a courageous battle with COPD at Hospice Home in Burlington. Linda was born on January 28, 1944, to the late James and Myrtle Jordan of Hoke County, NC. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Erphie Godwin; sons, Kevin Ross Godwin and Michael Edward Godwin; brothers James Leo Jordan and Jerry Allen Jordan; half sisters Alene Apple and Pauline Floyd. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Donna Boothe (Billy); son Perry Godwin (Lori), daughter-in-law, Tabatha Godwin, James “Jamie” Jordan Jr.; grandchildren, Anne Marie Boothe (husband Easton Penland), Madison Godwin, Jon Boothe, Keith Boothe, Christopher Godwin, and sister-in-law, Joan Jordan (Leo). Visitation with family and friends will be held at Forbis & Dick Guilford Chapel, 5926 W. Friendly Ave., in Greensboro on Sunday, July 31st beginning at 10:00am. The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00am. Linda was strong willed, loving, and humorous. She raised her four children and a close nephew as a single mother after the passing of her husband in 1975. Linda loved visiting with friends and family and going to the beach. She always wanted everyone around her to be having fun. Linda did manage to live by the beach in Florida from 1994 until 2011 and then moved back up to be by her family. She will be missed by all that she has touched. Her ashes will be spread by the coast at a later time. Many people were instrumental in helping Linda complete her journey, especially the extremely kind people from AuthoraCare Hospice in Greensboro and the Hospice Home in Burlington. They treated Linda with such dignity, compassion, expertise and love.
