Lewis E. Duckworth Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lewis E. Duckworth, 98 passed away peacefully at Friends Home West in Greensboro, NC on July 25, 2022. Lewis was born November 8, 1923 to Irvin & Lillian Duckworth in New Lisbon, WI. He was a devoted husband for almost 76 years to Uldine and a loving father to Judy Osborne and Brenda Garner. He graduated from Kendall High School in Kendall, WI and attended La Crosse Vocational & Adult School in La Crosse, WI to be a machinist where he had a successful career and later owned his own company, Duckworth Machining. Lewis served 14 months in the army as a payroll clerk. Lewis was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ where he served as a Financial Secretary, Deacon & made many maintenance repairs for the church. He also received a certificate of Honor from Church Women of the Southern Conference for Christian Leadership, for valued services & other faithful support. Lewis enjoyed spending time with his family, puzzles, and games on the computer. He also enjoyed working on the computer. He had a great mind to figure out solutions to many problems. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin & Lillian Duckworth, brother Alton Duckworth, sister Elaine Campfield and daughter Judy Osborne. Survivors include his wife Uldine, brother Leonard (Deanna) of Janesville, WI, sister Delores (Carl) Schaper of Fort Atkinson, WI, daughter Brenda Garner, 4 grandchildren, Ashley Leonard (Faith), Brian Garner (Holly), Emily Mellor (David), Drew Leonard (Kellie) and 9 great grandchildren. Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude for all the love and care he received from the faculty and staff at Friends Home West. Service will be at at 3:00pm, Monday, August 1, 2022 at Friends Home West, 6100 W Friendly Ave, Greensboro, NC 27410. A private burial will be held later.
