John Michael Leonard

February 26, 1957 - March 29, 2022

Mr. John Michael Leonard, 65, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born on February 26, 1957, in Lackawanna County, PA, to the late George Wilson Leonard, Sr. and Luella Jean Scheurer Leonard. Mr. Leonard was a man who worked as a machinist and a truck driver and loved his family dearly. He enjoyed coffee, riding his motorcycle, and was an automotive enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Francis Leonard, Jr. Survivors include his children, Patrick Michael Leonard (Stephanie) and Karyn Leonard, all of Charlotte; a granddaughter, Aida Grace Leonard; his siblings, Lawrence “Larry” J. Leonard (Joyce), Christine Smith of CA, Geraldine Beehler, and Paul Leonard, both of PA; a sister-in-law, Mary Leonard; 10 nieces and nephews; his friends and neighbors at Forest Lake Park; and four miniature poodles. A burial of cremains will take place on June 10, 2022, at Fairview Memorial Park, 111 State Route 435, Elmhurst, PA 18444, where he will be laid to rest with his brother, George Leonard. A celebration of their lives will follow on June 11.
