MR. JOHN KHALIL HANNA, 87, of Greensboro, departed from this life on Saturday, February 5, 2022. John was born on April 17, 1934 in Ramallah, Palestine to Khalil Hanna Musatlaha & Azeezah Karoush Hanna. He immigrated to the United States at the young age of 17 to attend Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. John was a caring, honest, and hard-working man who was devoted to his family. He enjoyed spending his spare time laughing with his family, taking long drives, being outdoors and playing cards. Many may remember him in his white apron chopping meat at the back counter of Hanna’s Red and White Grocery Store, a business he spent most of his life building. Maintaining his land was a source of pride and relaxation for him. Long after he had given up driving his car, he never hesitated to hop on his riding mower. John will be missed, but forever remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Samyeh Hanna, and his brothers, Aziz and Ramzi Hanna. Those left to cherish his memory: daughter, Ann Gregory and husband Donald, daughter Regina Clinard, son Charles, son Sami and wife Deanne, and 9 precious grandchildren. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service at 11:00 am. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 9th at the Dormition of the Theotokos, Greek Orthodox Church, interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
