Jerry Grant Berry

December 15, 1939 - March 19, 2022

Pleasant Garden, NC – Jerry Grant Berry, 82 years old, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. He will lie in repose (family not present) on Thursday, March 24, 1:00–5:00 p.m. at Forbis & Dick Funeral Service – Pleasant Garden Chapel, 4601 Pleasant Garden Road, Pleasant Garden. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 6103 Appomattox Road, Climax, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the burial. Jerry was born December 15, 1939, in Guilford County, NC, and was a graduate of Nathaneal Greene High School. He retired from Wysong & Miles Company in Greensboro. Jerry was one of the charter members of Climax Volunteer Fire Department where he retired in May 2012 after 41 years of service to the department and community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Smith Berry, and his parents Stella Curtis Berry and James Grant Berry. Surviving are his three children: Kathy Berry Wilkinson (Alan), Pleasant Garden; Karen Berry Lauder (Harry “Bud”), Randleman; and Christopher Todd Berry, Pleasant Garden. Grandchildren: Scott Wilkinson (Julie); Rachel Wilkinson (Erik Massengale); Emily Lauder Taylor (Ricky); and Kathryn “Katie” Lauder. Great-grandsons: Garrett Michael Taylor, Henry Mac Wilkinson, and Dallas Scott Massengale. Siblings: Mollie Davenport, Theresa Jones, and Greg Berry (Dolores). Beloved friend, Shirley Barker Coble, and her family. He is also survived by cherished in-laws and several nieces and nephews.
