James Michael Martin

July 5, 1953 - January 16, 2022

James Michael Martin, 68 years (July 5, 1953 - January 16, 2022), passed away peacefully surrounded by his son, Corbin, daughter-in-love, Jordan and his girlfriend, Karen Czerwonky. Michael was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Dolores (Dodie) Martin and James Christopher Martin. Mike (as his friends knew him) was a larger-than-life man that met no strangers. He gained many friends over the years in the various places he lived and worked. He was a huge sports fan and loved his BAMA football as well as love for cars. He graduated from Southeast Guilford High School in 1972 and shortly afterwards joined the US Army with the 82nd Airborne Division in Ft. Bragg, NC. Michael previously worked as lead purchasing agent with Volvo Truck in Greensboro, NC, Blue Bird Bus in Warner Robbins, GA and retired while working with Conmet in Waynesville, NC. In 2018, Michael and Karen moved to Macon, GA to be closer to his son and daughter-in-love. Michael is survived by his son, Corbin and daughter-in-love, Jordan; mother, Dolores Martin-Hinkle; sister, Kristy Bunting (Jerry); nephews Jason Bunting (Deborah), Justin Bunting and his four great nephews Jacob, Peyton, Jonah and Cole. Those surviving of the home: Karen Czerwonky, Mackenzie Czerwonky and grandson, Hawk. Michael was preceded in death by his dad, James Christopher Martin and both maternal and paternal grandparents. Family and friends are invited to a celebration gathering on Saturday, January 29, 2 to 4 p.m. at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home in Pleasant Garden, NC. Mask are strongly encouraged.
