His granddaughters were welcome in his shop, often playing with hammers and nails or riding in the wagon he built for them or taking a ride on the golf cart. He was a soft-spoken loving father and grandfather whose world revolved around God and his family. As long as his health allowed, he was an active member of Glencoe United Methodist Church where he enjoyed helping on projects around the church and parsonage. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary N. Osborne. Surviving are his daughter Lea Ann Howerton and her husband, Anthony, of Summerfield; a sister Ruth Fulton and brother Harry Osborne and his wife, Linda, all of Stokesdale; 2 grandchildren Heather Carroll (Michael) and Brooke Haney (Weston) and 4 great grandchildren Alex, Dakota, Dake, and Lute.
