Frances C. Coyle

November 11, 1927 - February 13, 2022

Frances C. Coyle passed away on Sunday February 13 at Pennybyrn Retirement Community in High Point, NC. She was 94 years old. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on February 23 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2203 West Market Street, Greensboro, NC 27403. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service at 12:00 Noon. Entombment will follow the service at 3:00 PM at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27407. Frances was born November 11, 1927 in Stanley, Gaston County, NC to the late J. L. Crowell and his wife, Thelma Hovis Crowell. She graduated from Berryhill High School in Charlotte, NC. She enjoyed spending time outdoors as well as cooking, sewing, cross stitching, playing the piano, organ and traveling. Frances served as church secretary for St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Mooresville, NC, secretary to the president of Sacred Heart College, and secretary to the principal at Sacred Heart Campus School, both in Belmont, NC. After moving to Greensboro, NC she served as secretary for St. John’s United Methodist Church. Frances shared her musical talents as organist while a parishioner at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Belmont and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Greensboro. Frances was a wonderful wife to her husband Joseph F. Coyle. They were married for 64 years and shared a lifetime of happiness, including family vacations from New York to Florida, and overseas trips to Continental Europe and Ireland. She was an excellent mother to sons Michael Edward Coyle and Joseph Lee Coyle. In addition to her parents Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Pelletier. Frances is survived by her husband Joseph, her sons Michael and Lee, his wife Karen, and three grandchildren Jaden, Natalie, and Matthew.
