ADVANCE—Mr. Ethan Todd Barnes, 24, of Baileys Chapel Road, died suddenly on March 15, 2022, while fishing in a place where he was born, raised, and loved. He was born on April 29, 1997, in Davidson County, to Todd Anthony and Andra Leigh Burkhart Barnes. Ethan loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed baseball. He worked as a supervisor at Blakley Landscaping and volunteered for over eight years with Fork Volunteer Fire Department. Ethan enjoyed spending time with his precious daughter, Hadley, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nan and Coy Barnes. In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife of three years, Lissa Paige Hutchens Barnes, of the home; his daughter, Hadley Grace Barnes, also of the home; two sisters, Lindley Sheldon Farris (Ramsey) and Hunter Kate Agee (Owen); maternal grandparents, Paul and Barbara Burkhart; his father and mother-in-law, Jay and Paulette Hutchens; a brother-in-law, Jarette Hutchens (Katherine) and family; a grandmother-in-law, Peggy Phillips; his niece and nephews; and many special friends and extended family. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, in Bailey’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Chad Shoaf and Mr. Brian McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends at Eaton Funeral Home from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday before the service. In memory of Ethan, the family requests that attendees wear red, black, camo, and jeans.
