Edward Franklin 'Edd' Valentine

Edward “Edd” Franklin Valentine, 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Countryside Manor. A 12:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Liberty Wesleyan Church with Rev. Danny Janes officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Edd was born in Guilford County on May 14, 1934, to James and Geneva Howerton Valentine. He was a member of Moravia Moravian, but attended Liberty Wesleyan Church. Edd loved spending time at home, and enjoyed working in the yard and gardening as long as his health permitted. He was a retired supervisor from Guilford Mills. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa West; granddaughter, Jasmine Gary; grandson, Brody Farrar; sister, Ann Williams; and brothers, David, Herman, Paul, and Hubert Valentine. Edd is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley Moore Valentine; daughters, Caron Bennett Valentine of Greensboro and Sabrina Valentine (Randy McCausland) of Summerfield; grandchildren Luke Ellis, Desire Gary, Joshua Ellis, Amber Farrar, Asa Bennett, Koco Harding Harris, and Rosie Bennet; and great grandchildren, Johnny Otis Valentine, Haylee Farrar, Onyx Harris, and Ava Harris.
