Dorothy 'Dottie' Robertson Helms

Mrs. Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Robertson Helms, 83, of Bear Creek, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Siler City Center. The funeral service for Mrs. Helms will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Forbis & Dick Stokesdale Chapel with Ms. Jamie Wood officiating. The family will receive friends between 11:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. in our chapel. The burial will follow at a later date. A native of Halifax County, VA, Dottie was born on October 1, 1938, the daughter of the late Lonnie Melvin and Sadie Trent Robertson. She retired from Parker’s Restaurant, was a workaholic and the best biscuit maker. Dottie loved working in her yard, and she was “real”; what you saw was what you got. Surviving are her 4 daughters, Patricia W. Smith (Danny) of Bear Creek, NC, Vickie Renee Helms of Danville, VA, Christine Helms of Yanceyville and Sherry Jean Helms of Greensboro, son; John Helms of Spartanburg; brothers, Melvin Robertson, Steve Robertson and Gene Robertson; 12 grandchildren Crystal Michelle Wood, Dana Kay Smith, Scotty Lee Smith, Jamie Renee Wood, Ryan Neal Wood, Daniel Lee ‘Dooner’ Smith, Jr., Jacob Sellars, C. J. Sellars, Brandon Axl Parrish, Cierra Cheyenne Oxendine, Jaxon E. Curry and Delilah Curry; 10 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Horace Helms; brothers, Billy Robertson, George Robertson and Bobby Robertson; and sister, Kathlene ‘Kitty’ Latham.
