Mr. Danny Joe Garris, 72, passed away Friday evening, January 21, 2022, at the Randolph Hospice Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 24 at the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Cecil Donahue officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall one hour prior to the service. A native of Yadkin County, Danny was born on October 19, 1949, the son of the late Robert Paul Garris and Betty Groce Garris. In 2004 he retired from AT&T/BellSouth where he worked as a digital technician. He was a member of Center United Methodist Church where he served as a Deacon and on mission teams to Armenia, Costa Rica, and New Orleans following hurricane Katrina. He was a talented woodworker, settling for nothing less than perfect. On January 16, 1993, he married Ann Morton Royster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Della Golden. Surviving are his wife, Ann, of the home; son Brad Garris and his wife, Lori, of Kernersville and step-daughter Reina Star Lawson of Greensboro; brothers Ronnie Garris of Archdale and Steve Garris of Stokesdale; sister Libby Stanley of Summerfield; 5 grandchildren Alexandra Golden, Thomas Golden, Landry Garris, Alyssa Edison, and Tyler Edison; great grandchildren Lawson Golden, Jason Golden, Stella Golden, and Paw-Paw’s special angel, Gemma Hoffman.
