Claude T. Church, 87, of Greensboro, died June 7, 2022 in Greensboro. He was born in Wilkes County, NC, one of ten children to Dolphus A. Church and Bessie Eller Church. He started United Metal Finishing Company where he retired after 30 years. He was fiercely patriotic and served his country in the North Carolina Army National Guard as a medic. Mr. Church was a very active and inspirational member of Alamance Presbyterian Church, serving many roles such as Deacon, Elder and Treasurer. He served as a commissioner for many years with the Alamance Community Fire Department and was a member of the General Greene Car Club. He was an avid gardener who spent many hours beautifying his property. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Catherine with whom he enjoyed traveling the United States and abroad. He was a kind and gentle person who was a friend to everyone he met. He was especially loving and giving to his many siblings, nieces, and nephews. Surviving along with his wife of almost 65 years are his three sisters, Elzia, Melvina and Dean, along with his nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the caretakers at Guilford Health Care Center for their kind and compassionate care given to Mr. Church. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Alamance Presbyterian Church Cemetery fund. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Alamance Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Kyle Goodman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:45.
