MOCKSVILLE—Mr. Clarence Lee Spillman, 85, of Junction Road, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021. He was born on August 2, 1936, in Davie County, to the late Alphonso Grant Spillman, Sr. and the late Sallie Brown Spillman. Mr. Spillman was a member of Cooleemee Church of God and enjoyed his job working with his family at Spillman’s Auto for 54 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years active duty, and 30 years with the reserves. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for Cooleemee and Jerusalem fire departments for over 25 years. Mr. Spillman enjoyed working with his cows, checking his pasture, and loved his grandchildren dearly. He will be remembered as a devout Christian who loved life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Delano Spillman, Terrell Spillman, Doc Spillman, Alphonso Grant Spillman, Jr., and Joe Spillman; two step-children, Ronnie Morgan and Sondra Morgan; and a great-grandchild, Leeandre. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Nadine Tallent Spillman, of the home; his children, Kimberly Spillman Kyles (Dennis), David Wayne Spillman, all of Mocksville, and Edward Paul Spillman (Angelena Noto Spillman) of Salisbury; his brothers Monroe Keith Spillman (Cheryl) and Roger Phillip Spillman (Deborah A. Spillman); 13 grandchildren, Lauren O’Rourke (Michael), Sarah Euart (Christopher), Anna Heafner, Angelena V. Spillman, Giovanni V. Spillman, Victor F. Spillman, Michael V.N. Spillman, Santino A.N. Spillman, Giovanni M. Parker, Hailey Chunn, Billy Gray Morgan (Veronica), Cassondra Morgan, and Richard Morgan; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 28, at Cooleemee Church of God, with Rev. Bruce Harry officiating. The body will lie in state in the church for 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow in Legion Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday night at Eaton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered for Cooleemee Church of God, 7704 NC-801, Cooleemee, NC 27014.
