Clara Williams Brown

Clara Mae Brown [Williams], age 96, of Pleasant Garden, NC, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 29, 2021, at home. Clara was born in Guilford County on November 6,1925, to Rezzie Dean and Maggie Heilig Williams. Clara attended Bessemer High School where she was the named "the most athletic girl in the class of '44" as a member of the basketball team. After high school, she pursued a nursing degree at St. Leo's School of Nursing in Greensboro where she graduated in 1948. Clara worked as a nurse for her entire career. She was an active member of Pleasant Garden United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with family and friends, watching basketball, gardening, reading, and researching her family history. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Moureau and husband Tom; son Henry Monroe Brown Jr. and wife Rebecca; five grandchildren, Richard McLean Jr. and wife Erin, Marie Gladu and husband Joshua, Anna Benson and husband Steve, Jennifer Brown, and Emily Smith and husband Jonathon; eight great-grandchildren; and sister Marie Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Henry Monroe Brown Sr; three sisters, Lucille Hatley, Wilma Wortz, and Marion Young; and one brother, Jimmy Dean Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Clara to Pleasant Garden United Methodist Church or Hospice of Randolph. Pleasant Garden Chapel is serving the Family.
