Mr. Chauncy Olin ‘Rusty’ Russell, 92, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Kernersville Medical Center. Mr. Russell’s funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20 at Stokesdale Christian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick-Stokesdale. A native of Davidson County, Rusty was born on May 17, 1929 the son of the late Wiley W. and Judy Russell. He was a faithful member of Stokesdale Christian Church, having served as a deacon and on several committees across the years. He was retired from Borden’s Dairy (now Hunter Farms) with over 45 years service and following his retirement worked as a delivery driver for Touch of Greens and a driver at the Greensboro Auto Auction. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Angel Russell; sons Barry Olin Russell and Roy Allen Russell; sisters Goldan Russell and Iola Burns; and a brother James Hoyt Russell. Surviving are step-son Jeff Cockman of High Point; daughter-in-law Susan Russell; grandsons Brian White and Braxton White and his wife, Stephanie; 4 great grandchildren Chase White (Caitlin), Hannah Furches (Indy), Erin White, and Lauren White and 2 great-great grandchildren McKenlyn White and Carter White; as well as special “cousins” on the Preston side of the family. Rusty loved his church family and memorial donations may be directed to Stokesdale Christian Church, 8607 Stokesdale Street, Stokesdale, NC 27357.
