Carolyn Brown Mooney

March 5, 1930 - January 20, 2022

Carolyn Brown Mooney was received into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus on January 20th, 2022 at her home surrounded by loving family. She was born on March 5th, 1930 in Savannah, Georgia her parents moved to Greensboro, NC in 1931 where she lived the remainder of her 91 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Mooney, her parents, Thomas and Almeda Brown, brothers, George E. Brown and Thomas G. Brown. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Forrest (Wally) of Greensboro, NC, Beverly Kilpatrick (Don) of Alabama, Deborah Graham (Tim) of Alaska, sister, Billie Jean Johnson and sister-in-law Ouida Brown, Greensboro, NC. She has five grandchildren, Jonathan, Heather, Tyson, Brad, Carrie. She has seven great grandchildren, Brittany, Jackson, Luke, Isaac, Samuel, Sigrid, Silas, and one great-great grandchild Elias. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a dedicated child of God. She was declared by our Heavenly Father to be one of His children through baptism on June 25th, 1939 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Greensboro, NC and confirmed her faith in the rite of confirmation at the age of thirteen on June 13th, 1943. She served her church as a devoted choir member, working on various boards, and with the youth. She was employed at Women’s Hospital for 20 years working in labor and delivery, blessed to bathe the newborn babies. She loved the beach life at Long Beach, NC (OKI), family weeks at church camp in Linville, NC, and 25 trips to Hawaii. An avid Braves fan, she was overjoyed when they won the 2021 World Series. She was deeply loved by family and many friends and will be greatly missed. We will cherish the many memories of her. Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, January 29th at 2:00 pm at Ebenezer Lutheran Church 310 S Tremont Dr, Greensboro, North Carolina interment following the service at Westminster Gardens memorials in memory of Carolyn may be designated to Ebenezer Lutheran Church or Hospice of Greensboro.
