Brenda Kay McGee Moore

June 7, 1943 - April 21, 2022

Brenda Kay McGee Moore, 78, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at her home with loving family by her side. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, with her brother, Chaplain Barry McGee, leading the service. The family will greet friends following the service in the fellowship hall. A Rockingham County native, Brenda was born on June 7, 1943, the daughter of the late Wilbur McGee and Ellen Neal McGee. She was a long-time member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was retired from Purolator. Brenda loved time spent with family and was known for her cheerful demeanor and enjoyed singing, dancing, and laughing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur ‘Roger’ McGee. Surviving are her children Rhonda Shaffner (Doug Hudgins) and Johnny Moore (Laurie); brothers Boyd McGee of Concord, Kenneth McGee of Stokesdale, and Barry McGee of Winston-Salem; sister Marsha Smith of Stokesdale; 5 grandchildren Wyatt West, Mindy West, Steven Shaffner (Allie Richardson), Nate Moore, and Jake Moore; 2 great grandchildren Gage and Christine; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Forbis & Dick – Stokesdale is serving the family.
