Beatrice Ann Murphy Maness Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Beatrice M. Maness, 91, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children on Wednesday July 20,2022. She was born September 5, 1930, to the late Sam L. Murphy and the late Thelma Burch Murphy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband of 39 years Donald L. Maness and her daughter Cynthia C. Pegram. She is survived by her son David W. Maness of Pleasant Garden and her daughter Marsha M. Pugh (Tim) of Franklinville as well as her grandchildren Kevin Pegram (Lynn), Matthew Pugh (Amrah), and Joshua Pugh and her great grandchildren Payson Pugh and Raegan Pugh. Bea was born and raised in Danville, Virginia before marrying and moving to Greensboro and then to Pleasant Garden. She was employed by Royal Typewriter in Greensboro and then Boren Clay Products before she retired. She loved her church and the Lord Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church for over 45 years. Besides being a church clerk for most of those years, she was also very involved in the music program. She was involved in choir and theatrics while in high school and continued to sing in choirs throughout her life. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the many acts of care and support shown to them and their mother during her decline, A special thanks is extended to her good friends and neighbors Danny & Robin Halsey, George & Jane Jones, and Rick & Kelly Wallace for their constant show of love towards mom over the years. Memorial may be made to Pleasant Garden Baptist Church. Forbis & Dick at Pleasant Garden Chapel is serving the family.
