Arthur Benedict Harron Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Arthur Benedict Harron, age 80, passed away July 21, 2022. A 1:00 p.m. memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 108 W. Farriss Avenue, High Point, NC, 27262. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church. Born to the late Martha Benedict Harron and Arthur Benjamin Harron, he graduated from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, then traveled around the world while serving in the Navy aboard the world's first nuclear powered aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and successful career in the hotel and restaurant industry. He worked for Marriott Hotel, Le Chateau, and others. The highlight of his professional career was owning and operating Stocks & Buns, a cornerstone of the downtown restaurant scene during the 1980s and 1990s. Many of his recipes continue to be requested and enjoyed to this day. He also earned his Master of Business Administration from the Wake Forest Executive Program. A loving and much-loved husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife Judy Harron, brother Brian Harron (Hallie), daughter Kelly Harron Albright (Jim), sons Kevin Harron (Catherine) and Greg Harron (Sarah) and grandchildren Will Albright (Kailyn), Sarah Albright, Jack Albright, Tanner Harron, Meredith Harron, Jonny Kate Harron, Samantha Harron and Anna Harron. He had a lovely tenor voice and continued working on his vocal skills throughout his later years. He had a strong passion for competition and enjoyed keeping up with multiple teams across many different sports. While his favorite participation sport was cycling, he also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren pursue their passions on the soccer pitch, tennis court, lacrosse field or theatrical stage. He never met a dog that he didn't like and could always be found walking around the neighborhood with a faithful companion at his side.
