Arthur Scott Allen Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

GREENSBORO- Mr. (Arthur) Scott Allen Sr., 59, died Wednesday, January 20th, 2021 at his residence. A private family celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2 o’clock pm with Rev. Jeremy Troxler officiating. The service will be streamed online by his church, Guilford College United Methodist http://guilfordcollegeumc.org or via YouTube by searching Guilford College UMC. Scott Allen was born on November 19, 1961 in Roanoke Rapids, NC. He was the son of the late Roy Wilson Allen and Helen Hudson Allen. He graduated from Grimsley High School in 1980 and Western Carolina University in 1985 where he majored in Sports Management. In Scott's free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, Saturday morning trips to Biscuitville, playing golf with friends, spending time at the beach, and looking at the stars. He was very involved in his church participating in many events including leading the annual Trunk-or-Treat, participated on the church council, and greeted guests of the church every Sunday morning with a smile. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Wilson Allen. Survivors include his wife of 5 years, Cyndi Lee Allen, his mother, Helen Hudson Allen, children: Brooke Medinger (Barry), Scotty Allen (Shelby), and Carrie Allen. Grandchildren: Charleigh Grace and Bennett Paul Medinger. Brothers: Jon Todd Allen (Julie Hinson) and his son Luke; and Stephen Wayne Allen (Susan) and their children Stephan, Matthew, and Caroline. The family would like to recognize Wendy Foster for the special love and care she gave Scott throughout his declining health. Scott never met a stranger. His smile and personality were contagious to anyone he met. He was a fighter until the the very end and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
