Following her retirement in 1991, she and Barry traveled the United States and in 1999 they moved to Sullivan’s Lake Condominiums where they made many new friends, especially their next-door neighbors, Brenda and Ken. Over the last 18 years, she enjoyed her weekly card game on Mondays, with her friends, which included plenty of laughter and making memories. Delois always had a compliment and encouraging word for anyone she met, even strangers. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always excited about seeing them. Blessed with a green thumb, she enjoyed tending to her rose bushes and sharing them with her friends. She enjoyed time with family and friends, especially at holidays and birthdays. Whenever Delois made her famous deviled eggs and pound cake, family members looked forward to taking home the extras. She attended Alamance Presbyterian Church and later became a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice.
