November 23, 1939 - August 17, 2021
Early Tuesday morning, August 17, 2021, God welcomed Alice Faye Shoffner to her eternal rest. She fought a good fight and is now at peace resting in the care of her heavenly Father. A service honoring Faye’s life will be held at New Goshen United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2:30 pm. The Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service starting at 2:00 pm. In compliance with the Guilford County Indoor Mask Rule all in attendance will be required to wear a mask. She was born November 23, 1939 to the late Lawrence and Lillie G. Shoffner in Greensboro, NC. She was educated in the Guilford County Public School System attending Terra Cotta Elementary and Dudley High School. She worked for The Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC) where she, her sister and another co-worker became aware and obtained a grant for a summer youth program which employed youth in the community and enriched the lives of many children. She retired from Rexham Packaging after many years of service. She joined New Goshen United Methodist Church at a young age where she sang in the Senior Choir, served on the Worship Committee, Staff Pastor Parrish Relations Committee twice, Committee on Social Concerns / Church and Society, Secretary of United Methodist Women. Her friends and family delighted in her cake baking skills which were perfected from her mother's recipes. She loved sharing meals with friends and family whether for a special occasion or just a drop by visit. Her family will miss her dearly but will have memories that will sustain them for a lifetime. She was preceded in death by her siblings Robert Shoffner, Helen Shoffner Sanders and Edward Shoffner. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sons Michael Shoffner of the home, Ronald Shoffner (Lisa); sister-in-law Florine Shoffner; granddaughters Kristy Shoffner, Karrie S. Poston (Arthur) of Harrisburg, NC, Ronnie Michelle S. LoCash (Daniel); 9 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Yan Feng and the staff of the Cone Health Cancer Center for their care and kindness.
