ALDA BLEVINS VANDLING Alda Blevins Vandling, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, died peacefully at her Greensboro, NC home on Thursday, April 28, 2022, surrounded by her beloved family. Alda was born on May 3, 1934, to the late J. Walter Blevins and Anna Beulah Shatley Blevins in Ashe County, NC. After graduating in 1952 from Elkin High School in NC, she moved to Washington, D.C. There, she worked for the DAR and later opened a modeling agency after she married the late Robert Henry Holzbeierlein in 1953. Together they had three children. She later married the late David Russell Hall of Alexandria, VA, and they had two children. In 2002, she married the late Theodore Holdsworth Vandling from Corona del Mar, CA. She is survived by her five children, Robin Lea Hutton, Layne (Tim) Wilson, R. Michael Holzbeierlein, Jeffrey Robert Hall and Amy Brooks Hall; five grandchildren: Derek (Laura) Wilson, Shannon (Bryan) Pitts, Nicolas Hall, Luke Hall, and Roy Reid Young IV; four great-grandchildren: Lorien and Ransom Wilson, Wilson and Jonah Pitts; three beautiful sisters: Polly Andrakakos, Wanda (Bob) Egly, and Willa (Phil) Schlegel, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Howard and four sisters: Helen, Mary Lou, Melba, Martha and her nephew, David. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Forbis & Dick Guilford Chapel, 5926 W. Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC. A funeral service will be held the next day, Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 2:00 at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 3771 Yadkinville Road, Winston Salem, NC 27106, followed by a graveside service.
