Forbis & Dick Obituary

Mr. John Speight Sanford Jr.

RIP Brother.

we are all now reaching that stage of life that has taken you. we all must live each day as if it were our last. May you rest in peace.

On a late summers day we stood on a hill in Wyanesboro, anxious, scared, facing a strange school, new faces, different routines. We entered through that arch and for the next few years we began to form bonds, from strangers to friends, from friends to family. One late spring gradutaion day we hugged shook hands and walked away to a different stage of life leaving what had become familiar behind us to face more new and strange days to come.
Today as TAPS is being played at FMS for you, though our ranks now march one person short, our hearts are one person better for sharing those times, bonds, smiles and laughs with you. Once again we are all facing a new ad different stage in our lives and we are once again fcing it together as we did those many years ago. Maybe we dont stand together in the same place physically, but we stand together in our hearts in bonds of fraternity built on that hill in Waynesboro cemented together through trials and tribulations of life. Roll on Cassions.. FMS Class of 1970 RICK HESS for the class..

We are deeply saddened by the death of our friend John Sanford. John was more than a friend, he was someone that touched our lives with memories and his humor. We were fortunate enough for our children to meet him and remember his musical talents on a visit ot his home in Mocksville in the 1980's. John touched our lives through his letters through the years and we missed him dearly at the 40th Fishburne Military School class reunion. Rock on, John. We will always remember you with great admiration and love. Ronnie and Kathy Woodson

RIP JOHN. GIVE KARLI A KISS AS YOU PASS THROUGH.

Gone too soon. Peace be with you John.

My deepest condolances to the Sanford family for their loss. John was a great guy and always had a smile and a friendly face and comment for all. Without a doubt he will surely be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with the Sanford family for guidance and peace in the tough times surrounding John's passing.

My friend John. We had many late night chats about traveling, family, music and the meaning of life. I will never forget our last conversation. Our bond of friendship was strong and precious to me. I will miss you in many ways. The tears I've shed since your passing have been mixed feelings of sadness and joy. I know in my heart you are in a better place with Jesus Christ whom you believed to be your Savior. God speed my friend...you will never be forgotten. Di

John; I will never forget the snow ball fights in the QUAD. Thank you for your letters, phone calls in the middle of the night and thoughts over the years. Wishing you only the best in this new life. See you when my time comes. Ken Ross
