Mrs. Betty Rayle EdwardsGreensboro - Mrs. Betty Rayle Edwards, 83, passed away on Saturday July 24, 2010 at Blumenthal Nursing Center.There will be a private Graveside service. Mrs. Edwards was born November 24, 1926 and daughter of John Robert and Ada Frances Rayle. She was a member of Glenwood Friends Church. After working many years at Sears Mail Order Betty went to work for the Guilford County Sheriffs Dept for eleven years, retired and then worked with Sheriff Transportation. When Betty was not working she enjoyed her yard work and flower beds. She was known for her love, kindness and always put her family and others first. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Doyle Edwards, Sr, Sister Ruth Clendenin and Brothers Max, Bill and Howard Rayle. Surviving are her sons, Tom Edwards, Jr., wife Ellen; Barry Edwards, Sr., wife Cynthia; grandchildren, Barry Edwards, Jr, wife Julia; Kim Miller, husband Randy, step-granddaughter Erin Watson and husband Brian; great grandchildren Brooke Edwards, Max Edwards, Jacob Miller and step-great-granddaughter Scarlett Watson and sister Dot Nelson. The family will not be having a formal visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, N.C. 27405. The family would like to thank the nursing staff and all the aids at Blumenthal's and the family at Hospice for watching over our 'Mom" and "Granny". We also want to say thank you to the Guilford County Sheriffs Dept. for the honor guard. Forbis & Dick, 1118 N. Elm Street, are handling arrangements. |
