Mrs. Melissa Chambers Britt
On Saturday, May 25, 2013, Melissa Chambers Britt, 32, and her son, William Jaiden Britt, 3, passed away from injuries received in a boating accident on High Rock Lake.
Their funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at The Bridge, 1080 Old Greensboro Road in Kernersville. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stokesdale.
Born on January 16, 1981, Melissa was the daughter of Glenn Chambers and Gail Solomon Gentry. Melissa was an energetic wife, mother and student. She was a member of the Class of ’99 at Northwest High School, and was attending Forsyth Technical Community College where she was a pursuing a degree in Nutrition and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She also attended The Bridge in Kernersville.
Surviving are Melissa’s husband William Clayborn ‘Clay’ Britt, Jr; her parents Glenn Chambers of Stokesdale, Gail and Grant Gentry of Stokesdale; her brothers Michael G. Chambers and Darris Grant Gentry III, of Stokesdale; and half-sister Taylor Dye Chambers of Summerfield.
William Jaiden Britt
William Jaiden Britt was born on September 16, 2009. Surrounded by a loving family, he was the typical three year-old: into everything and romping about as little boys do. He attended the Muir’s Chapel Christian Playschool. He was fascinated by tractors and bobcats, and will grow up to tend the garden and cows in Heaven.
Surviving are his father Clay Britt; grandparents Billy and Frankie Britt of Greensboro, Gail and Grant Gentry and Glenn Chambers all of Stokesdale; great grandparents Peggy and Al Silva of Wilmington, Pat and Darris Gentry and Dorothy and Tim Pennington all of Stokesdale; and uncle Michael G. Chambers.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 31, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick Brooke Chapel, 8320 US Highway 158 in Stokesdale.
