Michael Dale Butner Sr.BUTNER
WALKERTOWN –Michael Dale Butner, Sr., 64, went home to be with his Lord, Saturday evening, January 5, 2013 at WFU Baptist Medical Center.
He was born June 18, 1948 in Forsyth County to Bynum Butner, Sr. and Sula Rierson Butner. Michael loved music and played in several different bands, including Forever Young. He was an animal lover, He loved his Lord and loved preaching and preached at several Nursing Homes. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Michael was a member of New Birth Baptist Church.
A 2:00 pm funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at New Birth Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Taylor, Rev. Michael Butner, Jr. and Michael Scammell officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bynum Butner, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Evonne Ravndal Butner of the home; 3 children, Michael Butner, Jr. and wife Laura of Low Gap, Melissa Griffin and husband Shawn of Bethania, Melinda B. Smith and husband Tommy of Pfafftown; 3 step children, Michael James Scammell and wife Brandy of Winston-Salem, Jennifer Lynn Scammell and Danny Ray Scammell, both of Germanton; 4 sisters, Adelaide Palmer of Pinnacle, Coseyetta McClamrock of King, Helen Frazier of Medlin, Janie Hamby of Mt. Airy; 5 brothers, Larry Butner of Winston-Salem, Bob Butner of King, Randal Butner of Pilot Mountain, Dexter Butner of Pinnacle, Isaac Butner of PA, and 4 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Monday January 7, 2013 at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
